This is as Qatadah said, &#8220;He cleanses it from the lowly and despicable characteristics.&#8221; [<a href=\"http:\/\/www.recitequran.com\/tafsir\/en.ibn-kathir\/91:9\" target=\"_blank\">Ibn Kathir<\/a>]<\/p>\n<p>(The &#8220;it&#8221; in this verse is referring to the self.
