The Quran

“O mankind! We created you from a male and a female, and made you nations and tribes that you may identify with one another. Indeed the noblest of you in the sight of Allah is the most God-wary among you. Indeed Allah is all-knowing, all-aware”. [Qur’an; 49:13]

“Certainly We have honored the Children of Adam, and carried them over land and sea, and provided them with all good things, and given them an advantage over many of those We have created with a complete preference”. [Qur’an; 17:70]

“[Musa (Moses)] said: “O my Lord! Open for me my chest (grant me self-confidence, contentment, and boldness).” [Qur’an; 20:25]

Hadith

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Good way, dignified good bearing and moderation are the twenty-fifth part of Prophecy. [Abi Dawud]

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “The blood, honour and property of a Muslim is inviolable for another Muslim.” [Muslim]

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Faith (Belief) consists of more than sixty branches (i.e. parts). And Haya (This term “Haya” covers a large number of concepts which are to be taken together; amongst them are self respect, modesty, bashfulness, and scruple, etc.) is a part of faith.” [Sahih Bukhari]

“It is enough evil for a Muslim to look down upon his (Muslim) brother.” [Muslim]

“Verily, Allah elevates some people with this Qur’an and abases others.” [Muslim]
