“But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High.” [Qur’an; 92:20]

“…and you do not spend except seeking the countenance of Allaah…” [Qur’an; 2:272]

Hadith

Narrated ‘Umar bin Al-Khattab: Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said, “The reward of deeds depends upon the intention and every person will get the reward according to what he has intended. So whoever emigrated for Allah and His Apostle, then his emigration was for Allah and His Apostle. And whoever emigrated for worldly benefits or for a woman to marry, his emigration was for what he emigrated for.” [Sahih Bukhari]

It was narrated from Jabir that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “People will be gathered (on the Day of Resurrection) according to their intentions.” [Ibn Majah]
